Here is a bad photo of our stage artwork for the Pierce The Veil tour.
go see that shit.

Our good friends over at NCompass threw the official launch party for Gutar Hero: World Tour for Activision and Best Buy. The logo lock-up we did for Best Buy / Activision was literally everywhere, but somehow out of the 3 iPhone photos that turned out, you can’t see it anywhere. oh well. crazy big party, and the new game looks sick.
Thanks to Scott from Activision for the extra passes and the NCompass crew for taking care of us.
But I gotta say.. who let the Smashing Pumpkins play 20 minutes of straight up noise in their set? Ouch. That was a bit brutal. But otherwise, good times!
Darren & Simon have a strange relationship…

The main game-play room and open bar..

Andrew, our new studio partner and head of Japs Ltd, looking very serious (and blurry - thanks iPhone).

EDIT: Found: The logo money shot, photo courtesy joystiq (Thanks for the heads up Matt!)

Check out joystiq for a full write-up on the event, and more images from the party here.
So as mentioned, we’re in a new space. welcome…

This is Simon. he is a new art director here at The Uprising.
Also we just moved into a sick 5000 square foot loft.
we will soon take over everything.
Welcome Simon.

Meet “Sweet Toof” he is a character we developed for a top secret project we are working on.

So, we were invited down to the IMAX Theatre at Universal City Walk yesterday to watch a tastemaker / talent screening of The Dark Knight.. Let’s be honest, it’s a bit surreal to be sitting in an IMAX Theatre with David and Victoria Beckham (and their kids), Cut Chemist, Surge from System, the AFI boys, Mix Master Mike, and a slew of other bands and celbs instead of your random fat heshers and their loud kids.

Expectations were running really high, and although we were so close to the screen you could hardly watch some of the scenes without getting sick, the movie didn’t disappoint. Insanely dark and twisted, with great effects and new bat toys.. one of the best action hero movies to date in our opinion, and definitely the best batman movie yet.
Heath Ledger as The Joker is by far the best Joker EVER, and the standout character in the movie.. such a loss. There are countless scenes where you realize just how talented he was and how sad his recent death was - and just how much playing the insane Joker may have led to his real life final days.

Anyway.. was a good break from the daily grind.. our new intern is working on getting the archives up on the site, so that should be coming soon. Stay tuned.
